A carbon laser peel applies a thin layer of carbon to the face, then disperses it with a laser. It deep-cleans pores, reduces excess oil and leaves a clearer, more even complexion. It is available at the Centre National de Détatouage, 3 rue Maari in La Marsa, and the price is given at the free assessment.
How does it work?
A very fine carbon lotion is applied and settles into the pores. The laser then passes over the skin: the carbon absorbs the energy and disperses, taking impurities and dead cells with it, while the gentle heat stimulates the skin. Unlike a chemical peel, the skin does not flake afterwards.
Who is it for?
- enlarged pores and blackheads;
- oily or combination skin;
- dull complexion or uneven texture;
- a quick glow before a wedding or an event.
How many sessions?
One session gives an instant glow. For pores and oiliness, 3 to 5 sessions a few weeks apart are usually recommended; your plan is set at the free assessment.
Aftercare
- Mild redness for a few hours is possible.
- Daily SPF 50 during the course.
- No scrubs or harsh products for 48 hours.
- Avoid direct sun and hammam for a few days.
Who should not have it?
- pregnancy;
- broken skin, infection or active cold sore;
- recent tan;
- recent isotretinoin or photosensitising treatment (tell us at the assessment).
